Process

1. Basic Sculpture Making:

4. Coloring & Polishing:

The basic structure is made using steel wires to give it a shape of desired animal and size. The size could be anywhere between 6" to-60" tall.

Now, water colors are used to give these finished sculptures the desired color. After color application a coat of wax polish is applied to buff the sculptures and give them the shine they deserve.

2. Applying Paper Pulp:

5. Mounting Accessories:

Now the paper pulp is applied to this basic structure using adhesive made of tamarind seeds. It is then dried in the sun or with the help of electric heaters till the sculpture is completely moisture-free. A nicely dried sculpture is less likely to catch fungus.

The sculptures are almost ready to dazzle your eyes. As a final step, these wonderful designs are complemented with accessories like leather saddle, brass knuckles etc. as per specific designs. With this step, manufacturing part is over and the sculptures are ready.

3. Mounting Leather:

6. Quality Check:

As a third step, the leather is mounted on this structure. This  leather is usually a goat or sheep leather boiled with various tree barks for proper conditioning. This is the most crucial step during the whole process and tests the real workmanship of our craftsmen.

The final product has yet to go through an exhaustive quality check to ensure the highest standards of quality. Each design passes through the experienced eyes of our quality control staff as they ensure that we live up to our word on quality. Yes, now they are ready. Phew!
